Delaying failure is a losing strategy

Stop trying to delay failures. It's a losing strategy, make them quick and move on. In this post, I want to cover the concept of making your failures quick and moving on to something else that will probably be better

Delaying failures as we know is when you are in a situation, where you already know that something is not working or that it is not going to work or you have done as much as you can do or as much as your capacity can carry, but yet, it is not working, and at this point your intuition is telling you that this is not going to work and you have seen the signs but you keep holding on to it.

You keep delaying the fact that this is already a failure.

You need to stop and re-strategize.

You need to change your strategy and move on to something better instead of holding on to it. I get it that we do these things because of motivation and the nostalgic feeling of accepting that we have failed and also the thought of accepting failure too early when we could have done more.

There is no glory in repeated failures unless it leads to success.

Delayed failure is a losing strategy this is something that I've thought of for some time now like there's this thing that when you are doing something and you start saying that it is very difficult for you and you have tried and tried and it's not working you have tried all the strategies in the book and it's still not working for you.

It doesn't mean that that thing is not working for every other person but it's not just working for you and then you've seen it, you've felt it, you have gotten the Intuition at some point.

Move on when that time comes! Because as long as you’ve felt it and you refuse to move on, that becomes a delayed failure.

Because you already know that it's not going to work and to some extent some people when they get to this point they will still be reluctant to let it go because of the ideology of motivation that even though something is not working, you have to keep working it. Even if something is not going as it should you keep trying it until eventually it works out.

I understand that concept and it's a concept I also abide by, but to some extent.

Because there comes a time when every condition has been met,

everything has been done but it is not just working,

the energy is not just connecting

the right part is not just crossing

the lines are not falling in the right places

your thoughts and everything start telling you that this is not the way

this is not going to work

It's like a rigorous chore that is uncomfortable

It's a very hard thing for you

It is not coming easy for you

And in some cases, you might think you don't want to drop it on time

let it not be as if you left very early

you accepted defeat too early

you didn't even try more

you didn't put in more effort or

you don't even have the capacitor in the first place

you are just forcing yourself to do this

You have Imposter syndrome

and things like that

If you don't want to feel like that then the next thing you should do when you start having that difficulty in proceeding is to change strategy

but if you have changed strategy or changed the design and it's still not working and you can already feel that this is not working and this is taking more time

If you start feeling like you have to hurry up

If you start feeling like; you could have been doing something else that is much better

some other things that could have been a better use of your time than what you are doing

then by all means rethink your decision

Because it is now a delayed failure and you know in your mind already that you have accepted failure but physically you are just showing up and giving appearances but you have accepted it internally.

The best thing is to drop it because the more you delay that failure the more you are eating up the time for something new

something better that you could have been doing

Because if or when you later accept the failure at a later time, you will realize that the new thing that you are supposed to have already gone far at, is now what you will be starting late

By then you have already lost a lot of mileage doing something that is not working

That is the whole idea behind this concept of stopping delaying failure because it's a losing strategy

For something that will work out,

you have to feel at ease doing it,

you have to feel comfortable with it,

you have to feel as if even if you are not paid in any way, you will still do it and not feel bad or cheated

You really have to feel at ease doing something, for when you don't feel at ease it will eventually lead to burnout and frustrations.

How to know?

This is what happens when you hear people complaining about their jobs or businesses in a dire manner

they don't feel at ease but instead feel like they are wasting their time and energy

And the truth is that they probably are!

When you start filling friction, You start knowing it.

Because the thing is that: You Will Know unless you choose to ignore

False motivation?

Your intuition will tell you, but the thing about false motivation is that sometimes when you get too much motivation, you start doing the things that are not supposed to be done.

Just because you think you have the motivation

you have gassed yourself up or someone gassed you up

and then you start feeling like; ‘it got to work.’

Yes sometimes motivation helps greatly, but a lot of time you really have to cycle back and ask yourself, are you being realistic here?

Because you have to be realistic

No matter how motivated you seem to be or no matter how you feel Inspired, you still have to cycle back to the reality of what is achievable,

Ask yourself; is this realizable?

Should I still continue on this?

once you start having doubts,

you start having that feeling that;

Oh, maybe this is not it,

I think you should reconsider it.

Now this is not for every situation. There are situations where when you look at it, you might feel, this can still work.

By all means, persist.

But, When you have applied all the strategies in the book that is within your capacity to do. When you might have used up a lot of time

exhausted your skillset,

And it's still not just working

The best thing you can do for yourself is to;

seek for more knowledge

Update your skillset or

Take your move right away

The more time you waste on that failure, The more it is going to affect the next thing that you should have been doing.

This is why I said that delayed failure is a losing strategy, because, it not only affects you in the present, it also affects the future.

Because the time you could have used, on something else or something better or something new, you are already wasting it on the old one.

So when it comes time for you, (that is when you have now finally agreed) that you have accepted that the concept is a failure and you're now moving on to the next one.

You will realize that much of the time you could have used to have gone far in the new option has already been wasted on the old one.

Now, you start struggling for time,.

You start rushing

Then, the issue of regrets starts coming up.

Oh, I could have done this a long time ago.

Why didn't I think of this a long time ago?

Now, I'm telling you before that time comes so that you can apply it and not have to fall into that trap or cycle of regret because it's not something that you want to have.

So, delayed failure is a losing strategy. Once you feel that pang of failure, that something is not going to work. When you feel that something is dragging, have a rethink immediately.

The problem I have realized people usually have is ‘what they want’

This is usually the case when we want something desperately, even if the red flags are obvious in front of us, we tend to neglect them and still want to work our way around it

If we truly listen to our gut feelings, they will always tell us what things are regardless of our desire for them,

But it is always out of our self-centered goals and desires that we usually ignore and press forward with our moves even when we are at an obvious disadvantage

Stop delaying failures, cut it short, and move on to something else or skill-up to match your current situation.

Remember you don't necessarily have to quit the current idea completely, but you can update your skillset and seek more knowledge and advice from those who have experience in the field.

Thank you for stopping by.
