Why Waste It?

If you knew your existence was a fleeting time in nature, the question will be, why waste it? - James Ezenachi

Life is a precious gift, yet it’s easy to take our days for granted, falling into routines and focusing on trivial matters. The saying, "If you knew your existence was a fleeting time in nature, the question will be, why waste it?" serves as a poignant reminder to cherish every moment.

Recognizing the impermanence of our lives can inspire us to live more fully, pursue our passions, and contribute positively to the world.

My aim for this line of thought was to jolt us out of the slumber distractions to the importance of valuing our time and making the most of our brief existence, because for real, life is fleeting and non-permanent.

The Impermanence of Life

Human beings often live as if they have all the time in the world. We plan for the future, procrastinate on our dreams, and sometimes waste days on activities that bring little joy or fulfillment. However, we are quick to forget most times that  life is inherently uncertain. We have no guarantee of longevity, and this uncertainty should serve as a wake-up call to prioritize what truly matters.

I believe that we understand and take to heart the fleeting nature of our existence, it can shift our perspective, urging us to focus on what is meaningful and enriching. This awareness can help us break free from the inertia of everyday routines and inspire us to live with intention, cherishing every moment and living with purpose.

Cherishing Every Moment

To cherish every second is to be fully present in our lives. It means appreciating the small joys, cultivating gratitude, and being mindful of our experiences. For when we learn to embrace the present moment, then we can find beauty and significance in the everyday aspects of life, from a simple walk in nature to a heartfelt conversation with a loved one.

Mindfulness practices, such as meditation and deep breathing, can help us stay grounded in the present. By reducing distractions and paying attention to our thoughts and feelings, we can develop a deeper connection with ourselves and the world around us.

Living with Purpose

Knowing that our time is limited, it becomes crucial to align our actions with our values and aspirations. Living with purpose involves setting meaningful goals, pursuing our passions, and making choices that reflect our true selves. It means not wasting time on activities that do not contribute to our growth or well-being.

Identify what brings you joy and fulfillment. What are your passions and talents? What legacy do you want to leave behind? By answering these questions, you can create a vision for your life that is geared towards Contributing Positively to the World by being both inspiring and motivating.

Contributing Positively to the World

Our fleeting existence also calls us to consider our impact on the world. Every action we take has the potential to contribute positively or negatively to the lives of others and the environment. By choosing to act with kindness, compassion, and responsibility, we can leave a lasting positive mark on the world.

Consider ways you can contribute to your community or support causes you care about. Whether it’s volunteering, mentoring, or advocating for social and environmental issues, your efforts can create ripples of positive change that you will live to always be proud of..

Avoiding Regret at the end

One of the most significant consequences of wasting time is the potential for regret. At the end of our lives, it’s often not the things we did that we regret, but the things we didn’t do—the dreams we left unfulfilled, the relationships we neglected, and the opportunities we missed.

By living with awareness of your fleeting existence, you can minimize regret. Take risks, follow your heart, and don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone. Embrace failure as a learning experience and a necessary part of growth as you build the life of your dreams.

Building a Life You Desire

Ultimately, recognizing the impermanence of life empowers us to build a life we truly desire. This involves making conscious choices that reflect our deepest values and aspirations. It means surrounding ourselves with supportive people, engaging in meaningful work, and nurturing our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

As we continue to live with the awareness that life is fleeting in nature, It will challenge us to reconsider how we spend our time and inspire us to live more fully and intentionally as we cherish every moment, live with purpose and contribute positively to the world, and be genuinely reflective of our true selves.

Remember, every second is a gift—don’t waste it.

Overcoming Procrastination

Today, I am tackling a topic that I know hits home for a lot of us— overcoming procrastination . You know that feeling, right? When you’ve got a deadline looming, a dream you’re chasing, or even just a sink full of dishes, but somehow you’re scrolling through your phone or reorganizing your sock drawer instead? Yeah, we’ve all been there. I’m going to dive deep into why we procrastinate, how it’s tied to our past experiences, and—most importantly—how we can start breaking free from it. Hopefully, it resonates with you. So, let’s break it down and get into it. What’s Really Behind Procrastination? Procrastination isn’t just about being “lazy” or “unmotivated.” I used to think it was, but the more I’ve reflected on it, the more I’ve realized it’s deeper than that. Depending on the experiences we’ve gone through, our relationship with taking action—or avoiding it—gets shaped in unique ways. It’s like our tolerance for risk, failure, or even success adjusts based on what life’s thrown at u...

You Need To Get Angry

Why anger is good for you. Anger, even though a destructive emotion, is a required catalyst for growth. - James Ezenachi Understanding this concept will make you value anger. If you have never gotten angry with your situations and inabilities, you may never be propelled to seek growth. Many of us are where we are today because of the level of anger that we entertain. And I know, we have been trained and groomed to think and believe that anger is a bad thing, a negative emotion that we should avoid at all cost. While I understand the reason for this logical position, I also understand that perspective is everything. So, if the reason why you have been told to desist from anger and the underlying emotions is because of the possible havoc it can wreak in a person and their fellow, especially when one person feels hurt by another and they are pushed to have a revenge. Yes, for that I understand and agree. However, when I talk about anger from a different perspective, it is in the lig...

Tailor Your Skills and Gifts to Your Life's Desires

In the journey of life, we each possess unique skills and gifts that set us apart. These talents are intrinsic to who we are, shaping our potential and guiding our paths. My suggestion that you should Tailor your skills and gifts to what you want for your life. You don't need to justify it, they are already yours, to begin with, was me trying to capture the essence of embracing and aligning our abilities with our aspirations.  I was looking to shed light on the importance of this alignment and why you should never feel the need to justify your talents to anyone. First and foremost, it's essential to recognize that your skills and gifts are inherently yours. They are part of your identity, woven into the fabric of your being. These abilities were not borrowed or taken from someone else; they are a natural extension of who you are. Therefore, you have every right to use them in a way that aligns with your vision for your life. When you tailor your skills and gifts to your pers...
